Through total happenstance, WMBR acquired a preview copy of Sam Amidon's All Is Well release (Bedroom Community) in late 2007, before the album's release was unceremoniously delayed until 2008. I thank my lucky stars that something - the unappetizing album cover featuring a sunburned, scrawny and shirtless Sam in cowboy hat - compelled me to listen. Recordings of transatlantic folk songs in Iceland - see similar venture by Bonnie Prince Billy and Valgeir Sigurðsson - it's a wondrous, humble moving record.
